McDonald's has the global market and is one of the most recognizable symbols of American exceptionalism around the world. It's the world's leading fast food chain because people just want a little taste of freedom. The ironic thing is that most people in the States don't even eat McDonald's anymore because it's shit. That's just how far we are beyond most other countries culinarily. America is typical 20-30 years ahead of most other countries when it comes to culture.

Greek (and in my experience, Portuguese) food is kind of an anomaly. Most of the time it's really not very good, but if you're actually in the country, and eating at a place using fresh ingredients, they know what the fuck they're doing. The best octopus I've ever had was in Naxos (yes, it's a real island), and it was literally just grilled and had basic seasoning with some fresh lemon but it was like eating rare filet or fatty tuna sashimi. It's the kind of thing you'll be dissapointed with if you just google a recipe, but when they pull it out of the bay an hour earlier and the guy who cooks it has been cooking it for decades it's like, "holy shit, this is really good". It's also like, "I would get sick of this very quickly if I had to eat it every day", which is why America will always be number 1.

I have a deep set hatred towards the baconator. I've never eaten one myself, but I saw one once. I was driving a girl I knew/lived with somewhere like a decade ago and we stopped at a Wendy's, where I offered to pay. My experience with Wendy's at the time was late night dollar menu drunk as fuck, so I knew you could get a feast for next to nothing. This girl was like, "I'm feeling like a lot of meat, uhhhhhhh, I'll take a baconator (pretty sure it was kind of new at the time, but I distinctly remember it being $6). I ordered probably a jr. bacon cheese burger, caesar salad, cup of chili, and a small fries - for $1 each. When she opened up her baconator I looked at my jr. bacon cheeseburger and it was the same shit. She literally could have ordered 3 jr. bacon cheeseburgers, thrown half the toppings in the trash, stacked the remaining ingredients, and have had exactly the same thing for half the price. You fucking illiterate retards who only order items with pictures are what keep these places in business.
