I use frozen pearl onions and frozen okra in my soup when I turn the heat off at the end.

My gran makes a great fried okra. That's about the only time I'll eat it.
Except in this bastard of a soup.
The local had frozen on sale for .99 last month so I scored two bags.
Pic is the last batch of soup I made.
I tossed one bag of okra in at the last fifteen minutes and it worked out surprisingly well.
