I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life and am passionate and would like to think talented with cooking/baking but have no exposure to the actual industry
What was your starting point? Did you go to a college or enter an apprenticeship? How long did it take to become an actual chef?
What is the salary like and how variable is it?
Do your own your own restaurant?

What the fuck is the point in bacon? I just sliced the dehydrated parts of a steak that I dry aged for a week into paper thin slices. Fried it in a pan like bacon.

It kind of reminded me of pan frying pastrami, and it had a very similar texture. But the thing that shocked me was how remarkably close to bacon it tasted. Texture wasn't far off, but clearly there is less fat.

So, maybe I will convert to Judaism after all.
