Why build a dehydrator out of $20 worth of material when you can purchase a $160 xbawkshueg bluetooth-connected temperature-controlled chrome-plated digital RGB display self-adjusting box that'll sit unused for 90% of the year after the first couple times you use it?

I've got one of those Hamilton-Beech cheapo plastic dehydrators as a hand-me-down. Works okay, but the smell stays around for weeks.
If you're adventurous, you could always try rigging one of Alton Brown's ghetto dehydrators with a box fan, furnace filters, and food-safe mesh.
