I have 25lbs of white rice. I'd like it to not spoil in the foreseeable future. It gets up to probably 65 degrees at the hottest in my basement, if the rice is in an airtight container, will that be enough to keep it fresh or do I need to freeze it?

Hey /ck/ what are tasty and healthy recipes that involve rice? What are good sauces to make and what are good vegetables/fruits to cook and mix with it?

When it comes to meals, I enjoy having a side of rice to go with veggies and meats. My typical recipe is usally a half-a-up with teaspoon of butter and soysauce. However, I've been concerned about the butter, wondering if it was an unhealthy choice to add to my rice despite that I enjoy the particular flavor it adds that I think goes well other meals. So /ck/, is there something else should be using that could preoduce a simliar result? Also, are there any other meals I could make with rice?

Hi /ck/, it's time for a cheap ass eating thread.

A pessimistic estimate gives me about $15 per week for the next several months.

Figure I can eat a lot of rice and beans/lentils. Flour for bread. Oats, eggs maybe. Not sure what vegetables are most cost efficient.

Dunno, just want to try and stay adequately nourished despite low food variety.
