The Portuguese take on the french croque madame is surprisingly good and it's pretty much considered fast-food.

It's a beef, spicy sausage and ham toasted sandwich covered in melted cheese with an egg on top and fries. What makes it special is this weird ass magic shellfish tomato-y hot sauce that is poured all over it.
