>try a bunch of "high tier" wines throughout the years
>start to adjust my spending and get into "mid-tier" wines like The Prisoner and Palermo
>Try Dark Horse wines
>Just as deep as the mid tier wines, alcohol effects are actually superior to the mid and high level wines I've tried.
I might have cheap taste but after trying some 600$+ wines, Dark Horse seems to be my favorite. I judge wine based on it's drinkability, depth, and effects.
I've tried extremely expensive wines that ended up tasting like cough syrup and pencil graphite and gave me a wicked hangover.
For some reason Dark Horse tastes good, has a very stimulating alcohol effect, and no hangover, yet is only 8$ a bottle.
Why is this?
I've looked into it a little bit and apparently Dark Horse uses some very modern wine making process that ages the alcohol content very fast, so even though the flavor is pretty basic the structure of the alcohol molecules are similar to a well aged wine.
