Is there anything more depressing than the aging alcoholics who linger at these types of dining establishments late at night? At least the crowd at dive bars is accepting of their state and form communities where they all can enjoy themselves together. The people who hang at places like Applebee's and Chili's seem to be more of the Hawaiian shirt wearing divorcee dads and "21 at 55, still partyin' hard" never-been-marrieds who are all there in hopes that some of the younger crowd wants to stick around after 10pm to listen to them drunkenly scream the lyrics to Hotel California and other overplayed retro hits, hoping to bring home a college aged girl/guy.

ITT: Most depressing restaurant patrons.

A bunch of news stories are being published about how millennials are killing the chain restaurant business because they don't go to places like this.

But they don't factor in bad food and bad prices.

What do? Is there any hope for these types of people?

then Noma or any other top restaurant in the world (Fat Duck, Alinea, etc.) is not for you. Also, experimental or molecular gastronomic food in general.
