Why did all the stores suddenly stop selling this stuff?

Yeast extract. It's what vegemite is called outside of Australia.

Just add some yeast extract and MSG to hot water (or better yet to vegetable broth that you bought at the store) and you'll have instant meat-flavored soup broth that tastes hella good, much better than the instant or packaged soups you find at the store.

You'll find that many of those instant soups contain yeast extract and msg anyway, but also a bunch of other shit that sucks, so this "homemade" method is way better.

American here. What should I expect?
