For me, it's the obsession with "the experts" and the hyper-fixation on technique that is widely impractical/expensive to professional cooks and the home cook that is not a single 20-30 something or a part or a DINK relationship. Worship of Food Lab/Kenji Lopez-Alt and any other midwit "fOoD sCiEnCe" writers who want to try to optimize something that is inherently subjective. Following all the food blog trends and regurgitating all those opinions as if they were their own. See how MSG is now the flavor of the month and sous vide is the way to improve any dish. Obsession with East Asian ingredients and techniques or reverence of any non-western sources. As with any midwit, they consume the exact same slop as everyone else but their egos are tied up in being "smart" and above the common masses so their man-children tastes need to be "elevated" to preserve their self image.

Basically, the type of dude who will spend 3 hours and 80$ making an "upscale" version of a burger and fries that has negligible differences in objective quality from something you could make in 20 min and for 10$.
