Ube ice cream sold at western grocery stores (flip or chingchong doesn't matter) is like, sub-bluebell-tier crap, with purple food and carageenan. I think the only reason it's gotten so popular is it seems "exotic". If people weren't such plebs and could actually use their taste buds instead of throwing judgment out the window any time they taste a foreign food they'd understand they were being taken for rubes

There are a few cities in America where you can get good ube ice cream but for the most part nobody outside the Philippines has ever had it
