I vote just cut it off and have a little taste test, and see if there's any noticeable change in the flavor and texture.

This. I've had In-n-Out for as long as I can remember, and it's only recently where I started ordering them well-done.

I've never really had that problem, every place I regularly go to is usually really nice.

>recently found a little out of the way moroccan place
>menu is limited but everything is delicious, especially the rose mint tea
>they even serve hookah at night
>manager is always happy to see us and likes to spend time chatting even though we're usually the only white people there

>Anyone else overcome a food adversion?

God yes, story of my life. I was a really picky eater as a kid, I had an oversensitive nose/palate and tended to shy away from foods that were flavorful. I got less sensitive as I grew up, but those habits were pretty much ingrained into me at that point. I was one of those 20-year-olds who only orders chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks at restaurants, you all know the type.

Anyway, I'm not sure when the turning point came about, but I do know at some point I realized that salads were actually delicious even without dressing, and really pungent foods like onions and various cooked vegetables were actually pretty good when used in other dishes. The best advice I can give you is to not be afraid to try a bunch of different kinds of fish; just because you can't stand one or two doesn't mean the next one isn't going to be delicious. Good luck overcoming this.
