Can't afford caviar but I grew up in a fishing village and have eaten bucketloads of cod and plaice roe. And milt.
Absolutely delicious stuff. Boiled and with some melted butter, or boiled, sliced, and fried on bread.
This is a Dover sole we grilled. Don't have that as often as plaice but they're both lovely fish.

Thanks, man. And it's nice to see you're still around.
Like slipping into your favourite knitted sweatshirt after a long workday.

I don't have any halibut pics. Here's a Dover sole we threw on the grill. You shouldn't ruin a fresh catch by battering it or slathering it in sauce.

I've grilled a few porkchops and chickenlegs and some whole plaice in the last few days but I wasn't supposed to.
We're closing in on 3 whole months of total drought, which is absolutely unheard of in Denmark, and it's actually currently illegal to BBQ. I set up mine in our open bikeshed on tiles and keep a bucket of water handy, though. I don't figure I'm posing more of a risk than all those assholes who toss their cigarettebutts from out their carwindows.
Here's a sole from some weeks back. I don't take pics of every damn meal after all.

The weather was lovely so we dusted off the grill today.
Got each of us a fresh caught plaice and also a brill, to share.
Skinned, on one side, the plaice and wrapped them in tin foil to steam them with a little dill, garlic, and lemon and they were lovely.
Grilled the brill whole, skinside down obviously and it was absolutely amazing.
Had some salad and cold potato salad as well but I didn't take any pics of those.
