Once, as a poor college student, I bought a big pack of pork chops on a good sale. I was working 45 hour weeks and going to school full time, and I didn't get around to cooking them until they were clearly off. They smelled and were slimy, but buying them had been the last of my food money and I needed them.

I thought, well, if I cook them really well, like to the point they were dry and barely edible, it would kill all the bacteria and I'd be okay. I made up some mashed potatoes, and some gravy, and I rinsed off the pork chops and dried them, and then cooked them until they were well done as fuck.

The bathroom I had access to was a converted closet with a toilet and a sink overlapping each other so there was barely room to get in or out. I spent most of the next week in picrel position as fiery bright yellow bile and vinegar poured out of both ends in hot, immediate lurches. I had to buy a bottle of draino for the sink afterward I had puked so much into the sink. I continued to eat the poisonous pork chops for the entire week as it was the only food I had.

However, I'm pretty sure I am now immune to food poisoning. This incident gave me an iron stomach.
