Not necessarily. If there was a religion that had no hard limitations and just focused on pursuing a goal, that would be a cool religion. Often times I meet these sort of rogue Christians who are like this, who are the rare type that prefer the beatitudes to the ten commandments. I think it's good to base your ideology on what people have said in the past provided the model actually works and can get you somewhere.
