I bought some rum recently (pic related) for baking and tried one sip since I never had it before but... it was really disgusting. I also tried it in a Dark n Stormy but that was also awful. Though I think I might also dislike ginger beer so it wasn't a fair shot. So do I just dislike rum or is your statement above false? I did not have the same reaction from cheap whiskey/brandy/gin. I had a mojito once and remember liking it. I was thinking of making a daiquri but it's not white rum so I'm not sure if it works.
