Jesus was definitely a real person but he wasn't who Christians think he was. He was a Jewish preacher who believed he was living at the end of time, and that when history ended, a divine judge of the universe would come and establish an eternal kingdom on earth. He did not think of himself as God and never claimed to be God, although he did believe that he would become a figure of divine significance after the end of time. Jesus would be shocked that people today worship him as God
