We had a few. It was really a group that I won't give the names of. We had a bitch GM come in and get rid of them all. She wanted people in that wouldn't call her out on her shitty practises. So she had them all systematically fired, or made them hate their jobs so much they quit. But I digress.

To answer you question, I will call him Steve. Steve was great. He sent people home when they were late or didn't shave, would tell you if your job was shit, and talked to everyone like adults. I remember him telling me "Hey, your dish job was shit. Do better next time." I really appreciated that, considering most of my managers are middle aged single mothers, who are too lax, and too emotional, and too prone to starting drama. He quit after a misunderstanding involving a we wuz kangz tier dindu and our GM. Steve sent the dindu home after he was three hours late to work. Steve didn't know that the dindu called our GM. Steve got so pissed that the GM allowed this that he called our regional manager. After a verbal fight with the GM he threw his hat at her and left. I still miss him and he was one of the best managers I ever had.

The thing about Americans is, their food is so riddled with salt and HFCS as bulking agents, that it really has an impact on their tastebuds. Go to America and the bread is like cake. Remember when Jamie Oliver went to America and cooked and every time the people eating it said it was bland and then threw loads of salt on it only for him to stand there shocked?

It's like the Romans and how their tastebuds were utterly warped due to the lead in their water pipes so they too said everything was bland, which is why they drowned everything in garum.

Go to any international restaurant review site right now and look at the negative reviews, they are always Americans and they always say the food is bland, no matter the country and no matter the cuisine the complaints are always the same.

Americans have such a skewed baseline for taste that they should be banned from commenting about food.

I pretty much love anything that is a meat patty slapped on a bun.

Bacon, the burger and cheese are key ingredients for me.

Next I like it with pickles for the taste, and lettuce just for the texture and feeling (you won't taste the lettuce but it makes the burger feel nicer in your mouth). And onions of course.


I dislike tomato since it makes the burger "watery". Tomato is wet and I dislike the feeling of wet bread.

McDonalds and other food chains that sell burger have really good sauces. Probably because they are specifically made to fit on said burger.

However if I make them myself I prefer not to use sauce since the basic ketchup & mayo & mustard won't taste good on the burger. They are too sweet and dominate the taste.
