My mom worked for a Canadian startup based in Montreal and I convinced a bunch of my high school friends to go to the jazz festival up there after graduating rather than some beachfront in the US where drinking is illegal
We would start every night out in the late afternoon each drinking a bottle of wine with some shitty takeaway food because it's legally a picnic and you're not just a day drinking vagrant, by the 4th day the bike cops would always say "No booze today?" when they rode by the park we always started in and we were just smoking or hanging out before raging.
Canada sucks a lot but Montreal in the summer is magic, those frigid winters were like a natural eugenics program and there's hot milky skinned brunettes in summer dresses everywhere
