This was a decent meal until you brought in the instant mashed potatoes. Why would you make homemade mushroom gravy, and then dick it up with instant mashed potatoes? They suck, potatoes last a while in the pantry, it's just a matter of buying some Yukon golds or redskins, boiling them while your pan pre-heats, and mashing them up with butter, salt, and pepper.

I swear instant mashed potatoes are starting to piss me off. My mom has started using the Bob Evans ones, and she's retired and has time to cook. I was watching an Irish channel on youtube, and this girl was saying she can't cook and buys instant potatoes. Jesus fucking Christ, when you can't trust your mom OR THE FUCKING IRISH to mash a potato, what the fuck has the world become?

There is one and only one excuse for instant mashed potatoes. When I cooked in a non-profit, we relied on donations and charity, and we had to feed about 150 people per day. In that one instance, we would make trays of mashed potatoes from those potato pearl things because economics and time demanded it. Fuck any other excuse for instant mashed potatoes.
