I found Igloo was bought out three years ago and is now owned by a Swedish company named Domestic Group, BUT, I could only find information related to the actual Igloo ice-maker in relation to Curtis International, a Canadian based manufacturer and distributor, using suppliers from China, Bulgaria, and/or Mexico to furnish their products.

However, this doesn't make sense, as they also manufacture Frigidaire, another former American company, now owned by Electrolux, another Swedish company. The only thought that makes sense is that Curtis International won a contract from both Electrolux and Domestic Group to manufacture residential ice makers, basically proving yet again it doesn't matter what you buy, because they all come from the same place.

So, it looks like a former American company, now owned by a Swedish company who uses a Canadian distributor that in turn hires Chinese and Bulgarians to make their products to then sell back to Americans, is the most economically feasible option I could afford for a countertop ice maker at the low, low price of $89.99.
