Don't millennials all carry huge credit card debts though? Buying on credit should allow them to still consume. Perhaps making student loans unavoidable even by bankruptcy was a mistake for the economy since you can have people be crippled by student loan debt and not be able to spend their $ on anything else.

I say this as a computer science major who just bought a home and until this moment had zero debt of any kind. I guess maybe I'm an anecdote that supports the guy I'm replying to because I'm a millennial and I have a near 40% savings rate.
