Start eating better fats/sugars/grains than what you're eating.

Fruits are a better option to indulge your sweet tooth in compared to candies. The fructose you find in an orange/apple is comparatively better for you than the HFCS and other sugars one finds in a Hershey bar (sucrose, maltose, etc).

You'll also get the side benefit of eating less calories and getting a lot of vitamins you wouldn't get otherwise. In that comparison, you get:

Hershey Bar first, then apple, then orange
Calories: 210; 95; 45
Total fat: 13g; 0.3g; 0.1g
Total carbohydrate: 26g (24 from sugar); 25g (19 sugar); 11g (9)
Beneficial vitamins: Calcium 8%, Iron 2%;; Vitamin C 14%,Vitamin B-6 5%, Magnesium 2%;; Vitamin A 4%, Vitamin C 85%,
Calcium 3%, Vitamin B-6 5%, Magnesium 2%

As mentioned, using some artificial sweeteners sparingly will assist you in weening you off sugar addiction. Diet iced tea has 0 calories and can help satisfy your sweet tooth.

You like sriracha? Great! Put that on everything! Eggs, vegetables, meats, beans, grains... it goes well with all of it and has 5 calories a serving. It's not even high on sodium either (each tsp is 4% daily allowance).

Lightly sautee vegetables in olive oil, add in some salt, pepper, lemon juice and sriracha or other hot sauce. Make this half of every lunch and dinner and you're on a good start.

Avocado. Shit's $. Guacamole goes well on pretty much everything, is a great topping to make a shitty lean turkey/chicken/vegetable burger taste better, works as a dip, with eggs, with grains, etc. etc. etc. This is the type of fat you should be going for. Nuts, avocados, occasional dark chocolate, some cheese, some fatty fish - are all better than the fat you get in candy bars, bags of chips, fries, regular consumption of high-fat cuts of red meat & pork, etc.

Spices. As mentioned, get lots of fresh herbs, spices and learn how to use them.

Pic related: chicken, sauteed vegetables (peppers, carrot, mushroom, spinach, onion, garlic), brown rice
