I've got a lot of herbs/spices, so let me know if theres any particular cuisine you're going for. I'll list the ones I use the most.

For spices, I'd say cumin (mostly for indian and mexican, but occasionally useful elsewhere), paprika (get the hot smoked shit, fucker), garlic (shit goes everywhere), and chili powder (see garlic).

For herbs, rosemary (stews, braises, roasts) basil (anything italian, and a small pinch in greek recipes) Oregano (greek/mexican) Sage (see rosemary).

If you're aiming for chinese, definitely pick up some fivespice and sechuan pepper.
