Hibiki is alright. It was a bit harsh at first but I let my bottle breathe for a few weeks and it tasted a LOT better afterwards. It's a little sweet and honestly, if it's cheap I'd say go for it. The more whiskys you try the better a taste for them you'll have. And if you don't like the bottle, don't struggle to finish it, leave it and come back to it, they change taste over time. And you palette will change too, so something you dislike now you might really like in a year or two, and the taste will mellow/change if you leave the bottle after opening it.

The Yamazaki 12 is a lot nicer (single malt as opposed to the Hib which is a blend). Haven't opened the Master select yet but I'm presuming it'll just be a slightly better slect of blends and be an improved version of the regular. I'm toying with buying a bottle of Toki though since I enjoyed Hibiki.

Ew.
Trash person.

C'mon anon, all whisky is worth trying. The suntory guys learned everything and bought all their gear from scotland anyway, their technique is almost exactly the same. Learn your shit. The only difference is regional ingredients and weather.
