Trust me, I would love a collie. Border collies are my favorite breed of dog, but I need a guardian, not a shepherd.
The reason I would get a Pyrenees is due to their reputation of being relatively chill dogs who, when properly bred and trained, will not harm your livestock.

Border collies seem to have a better reputation than say, an Australian cattle dog, but their high energy and prey drive could put my small livestock at risk. They are also kept in a paddock so herding isn't necessary. And from what I hear they are shit livestock guardians.
