I feel awkward enough getting a bottle of wine opened up at a fancy restaurant, this looks like it takes 15 minutes.

What the hell, I am literally cooking some right now. First time buying it, when I cooked up some earlier, it was very tasty.

If it is something hard and sturdy, like veggies, contact with the ground is fine. Germs themselves take a while to get on food, but stuff like dirt and grime is on there as soon as it hits. For that stuff, it can be cleaned. If it's before the cooking process, it is even better.

Something like bread cannot. Some cooked food is the same. If you cannot clean it, you should not serve it.
