Its hard to put into words. I've only gone through like 30-40 april filters and a shitload of cafecs/harios/konos. In my limited experience it seems like flats are easier to get a great cup out of, but the flavor is a little more rounded and samey? Not exactly muted, it just seems like cones "add" more, different flavor with the varied side flow and deeper bed depth. But its harder to dial in for that difference in flavor if that makes sense. Most of the time I use a lilydrip which kind of splits the difference. Makes a cone act a little more like a flat with the shallower bed.

Smoky porky and succulent. I didn't do anything fancy with the seasoning, just a light dusting of Kinder's Japanese BBQ and hardwood smoke.
>ball of stuff
Its just the tip of a cone filter. I use a lilydrip so the bottom of my filters are inverted. Gives me a thinner "moat" of grounds vs a deep bed for water to fight through. Almost like a hybrid cone/flat.
