I get money (food) tomorrow. For tonight I've got:

>Flour
>Baking powder
>Salt
>Butter
>Onions

That's it. What's /ck/'s best suggestion?

So I have this recipe for chewy chocolate-chip cookies.
And it calls for bread flour. (More protein -> more gluten -> chewy)
Anyway, thing is, stores near me suck and I can't find any bread flour. Only bread mixes, that already have yeast in them and such nonsense, the "Only add water" stuff.

I read you could substitute bread flour for a mix of 60% AP flour and 40% whole-wheat flour.
Is this true coo/ck/s?
If not, any tips/help?

Also, general cookie baking thread, GO!
