The easiest way to go from vegetarianism->veganism is to realize that 1) cows need to be pregnant to give milk and 2) their male offspring isn't bred to grow very big, so they're killed for veal before a few months have passed. And 3), male chicks are put through a giant blender at birth since roosters aren't super necessary. I actually think that's the most "humane" way to go about it, but it's not vegetarian.

Anyway I hope we can keep this thread friendly.

>How long have you been this way?
1.5 years
>How do you respond to people acting like dietary autonomy is terrorism?
Contrary to what it seems like on the internet pretty much no one cares about what you do or do not eat, as long as you don't bother them. The only issue may be going out to eat with friends: for vegetarianism this is no problem since basically 100% of the restaurants in the US have veggie options, but for vegans it's a little harder. Even so, there will be vegan options on the menu at Thai, Indian, Mexican (skip cheese/sour cream), Chinese, etc. It's getting better with regards to American restaurants too.

>What are some good vegan resources that you use?
These days I pick a cuisine and search "vegan ____", and try to find "traditional" recipes. I used to use a lot of BudgetBytes though.

>Favorite dish?
It's a classic, chana masala. For a recipe that's basically just a few aromatics and cans that comes together in 30 minutes, it's pretty great.
