Any alcohol will add, but you're right, it would have been far worse on beer.

I always get confused with this term on an international website desu. Liquor being an American term for spirits here in EU, whereas liqueur would mean a sweet spirit with herbs, spices, sugar etc...
If I was on liqueur all the time, and it's very addictive, I would be far more overweight and be suffering from multiple health problems.
