Newfag to this board here.
I can't cook, and I have been dependent on my mother to make meals for most of my life (20 years old, I'm not a NEET) and I want to change that since she's too busy these days and I want to ease the burden on her by doing my cooking by myself.
What sort of books or resources do you guys recommend to get a solid footing in cooking?
Things that teach you basic cooking techniques like cutting/frying/baking and such, and show you some basic to low-intermediate dishes like omelettes or spaghetti.
Something that I can use to go from 0 to amateur and then go off from there.

Would be nice if there was a learning general in /ck/.
