I made some cinnamon apple bread and it was alright, the recipe needs tinkering, but when I got to the very last bite, part of the bottom of the loaf, it was just so overwhelmingly bitter and at the same time tasted minty like toothpaste. It's weird just one spot was like that but WTF could have caused it? I read too much baking soda could cause bitterness, but it should've been spread throughout the batter if that was the case, and doesn't account for the mint. I hope I didn't just food poison myself.

Spices were just cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla extract and I used 3 green apples.
