*sigh* Allow me to educate you. If a pizza were truly a pie, it would have a top crust covering a filling. As the pizza "toppings" are just that - toppings - the pizza clearly has no top crust, else it would cease to be a pizza and become a calzone instead! You see, my friend, it's quite simply, really - the pizza is actually a savory tart!
