>work in a deli
>we serve this thing called "ham salad" for $3.99 a pound
>made from literally rotten meat from the meat department. it's not even fully ham. it's 80% sasuages and 20% ham.
>people love it. even my boss' sister but she doesn't know what's in it. probably would fire whoever tells her.
>our fruit salad we make is also made from expired fruit from our produce section

>one time co-worker accidently dropped a whole maple turkey breast in the trash can while she was opening the packaging and trying to drain the juices
>at that time i had only been there for a few weeks, wasn't aware of how we handle incidents like that so i assumed we would have to just throw the whole thing away
>find out that we take deli meats and cheeses that happen to fall on the ground or in the trash can and hose them down with water before using them like nothing had ever happen

>one time another different co-worker accidently dropped a whole parma prosciutto on the ground
>customer didn't see it so she quickly picked it up, took it to the back, wiped it off with paper towels before going back to cut a pound for the customer
