Western Canada perspective.

Elementary: No food. Your parents made it for you. Or like mine, after grade 4 made me make it myself if I wanted to eat. Ate cup noodle exclusively for 3+ years straight out of laziness.

Highschool: (middleschool doesn't exist here you go straight to high) Cafeteria with overpriced salads for 7 dollars once french fries became too "unhealthy" and were removed from the menu. Gross shit made by the handicap kids for $5-10. Everyone packed a lunch or walked to the $2 pizza place down the road.

BONUS ROUND: Private Highschool: After I switched to a private academy for my last two years we had hot meals 3 times a day made by a dedicated lunch staff. (I volunteered once a week and they gave me extra on special days like authentic curry or pizza day)

50% pork
50% beef
~20% fat

>turn your stove on and slightly oil the pan
>Spread meat on a cutting board
>Season with black pepper and garlic powder (best if you have a grinder with peppercorn / garlic flakes)
>rearrange meat a bit and season again
>form patties, make them roughly 50% bigger than you want them to be and don't make them too thick
>season top of patty again if you want
>transfer to hot pan using something flat and wide, shit's fragile at this point unless you smooshed it together
>flip once and season the other side if you want
>WA LA
>save the fat for prepping the pan next time

The bun juices will get into the meat, while the rising heat will warm and soften the cheese. At the same time, the cheese blocks most of the heat from warming up the lettuce and stuff.
