Eating for emotional reasons is kinda unhealthy. Comfort eating can lead to obesity. Several smaller plates seems more rational if you like doing something like eating a tiny salad, then vegetables you like, then a little meat, then take tea time. I eat a reasonable amount of calories over around 2 hrs. I've been told some Spaniards do the same.
