>what is the shove and pivot method
you can actually eat rice in a bowl faster with chopsticks than with actual spoons.

also, they did have actual spoons at the dining table.

they have spoons. Just not in the form factor you think of.

forks and knives are not used at the dining table because it was seen as rude, uncultured and crass to be bringing "weapons" to a place where you dine with families and friends.

>chinese dont have spoons
>Spoons were used as early as the Shang dynasty of the 2nd millennium B.C., both as a cooking tool and in eating

drinking it from the bowl is just more efficient if you are a commoner, aint nobody have the time to be dainty like a court princess--unless the soup is very hot and you have to blow on it

>unevolved and primitive culture.

this couldnt be further from the truth. Chopsticks were used for eating, because knives and forks are seen as rude and uncultured.

They are essentially miniature weapons (a knife is a miniature saber and a fork is a miniature trident) and it was in very bad taste to bring weapons to the dining table. Of course the chinese had forks and knives, but those are only used in the kitchen.

And they have spoons for dining, not sure why you think otherwise.

you guys do realize that restaurants do provide with communal spoons and chopsticks to help serve the food right?
you can also ask for a spoon even if there's no soup, but that's mostly for kids and moms when feeding food to minors
