So can we all, as adults, just admit that beer tastes bad? There's no "good beer" only "good for a beer". If beer didn't get you drunk, nobody would drink it. If it weren't unmanly everyone would just drink cider or wine coolers or something. It got this far on inebriation and tradition and otherwise wouldn't exist anymore.

If beer tasted good, non alcoholic beer would be a lot more popular. You'd get them if you were the DD, or just out for lunch at a restaurant on break from work instead of a soda.

Devices like the beer bong were invented so you could drink beer as fast as possible, so you can enjoy being drunk without having to spend so much time tasting them. There's an entire genre of party game where your punishment for failure is drinking more beer.
