The problem with the Soda is that liquids dont compress. Nothing to do with air bubbles or it being "filling". What you see in volume, is what you get and has to go somewhere.

I can't tell how large these cups are, but if they are, say, 250ml then that's 1lt of liquid. Drink 1lt of water to simulate drinking them then and see how you feel afterwards.
