we'd fill buckets full of hot water and then wet each stack of dishes on the front, scrubbing with steel wool while dealing them out to the person who tossed them onto the racks and ran them through the washer. throw and catch became second named words to me, while thousands of people lined the tables and ordered food.

later I worked in a diner, and it was in part of a drive in garage for the apartments above, some one hit a pipe with a Uhaul and I and the chef and where the sole ones who seemed invested in keeping the water out of the restaurant while annoying waitresses stood everywhere.

Personally I think in any of these places drugs, sex, and the like could have been prevolent. the kitchen always had a kind of chummy feel, where people who couldnt speak eachothers language would fist pump, scream eachothers names, and pat your back while simultaniously try to get you or others to talk shit to someone in a language you don't know.

I don't think any of this was something I ever felt proud of like anthony did, I never really fully embraced the culture, nor did I ever really resent it. I don't know if anything is still like anthony described but based on what I've seen as a lowly transgendered person working pantry, I wouldn't really doubt it /pol/lock.
