I can understand the cultural significance in the US but here it's a novelty at best.

Xmas is about sausages and onions on a barbecue sizzling under the hot sun while the kids run around the back yard with water pistols and the parents are inside drinking beer in the aircon.

Everyone has a nap mid afternoon cuz it's fukken 47c
Evening when it starts to cool off parents put a Disney movie or two on for the kids while the parents drink on the verandah and get smashed drunk.

also beans give good long-lasting energy which is handy if you know you have a big day ahead of you.
I always do a beans, bacon & cheese on toast breakkie before a big day of skiing or something just cuz I know it'll keep me going all day until about 8pm or so without needing a break.
