when I was a kid my mother was a member of the mormon church. preppers got nothing on the mormons. We had 5 gallon cans of:
wheat
beans
rice
honey
other stuff I don't remember

this was the early 70's.

she had that crap til about 1978 when we moved. the beans were probably still good, but the rice and wheat had gone rancid. the honey had hardened solid.

It was a waste of money. Seriously you really are going to eat beans, rice and fish for a month? 3 meals a day?

you don't know at all what you are doing.

you really want to "prep" buy the 2 week supply of food for 1 person or 1 month supply of food.

It will be freeze dried stuff and it will last 30 years. Oh and Mountain house is the best. last forever and actually taste good when you are eating it out of a rusty hub cap in a FEMA camp.
