I cook it on the range. 1 cup long grain brown rice, 2 cups water, heat to boil then cover, turn down to simmer and leave it for 50 minutes. Makes enough for four meals. I've never used a rice cooker so I can't comment on that.

cook 30 seconds
splash water in lid
turn lid over in pan
turn heat to low/simmer
cook 1 minute
