I wouldn’t call the garlic press lesser known but it’s a very useful unitasker

Ok how are you suppose to use garlic press?
I bought one while doing grocery the other day
and it doesn't even mince that well. barely half of the garlic come out the otherside so you have to grab a fork or something to scrape the other half inside out
then you still need to peel it
then its also pain in the ass to clean because of all the dumb tiny holes

compare to just grab a knife and a cutting board
unless the one I got is just shit and I need to buy expensive garlic press or something for it to work well?
