I've known people who were addicted to hard drugs and they loved their vice less than Jack loves food. The man is positively beaming when he can eat meat, he doesn't look at his own children or wife with such love. It's fascinatingly horrible.

Not with that generic predisposition to strokes he's not. His mom died just like he will. He's had so many strokes and mini strokes that he can't even keep track anymore. He really thinks this is just a normal thing people deal with; that people just have strokes all the time they have to recover from. "Recover" meaning "do nothing but pray a lot and eat 2000mg of sodium and 4000 calories of meat and cheese daily" btw. He will never leave his wheelchair. It really is over.
