I've always liked my moms cooking and i'm always nice to her and thank her when she cooks for me. But she's not a -great- cook.

>tfw parents always considered themselves good cooks and both of them like cooking and do it to unwind
>i start making food that's clearly better than theirs
>eventually they admit i'm a better cook
>tfw they start actually trying again to put more effort into food and trying new recipes and stuff because they realise how much they're slipping

They do a lot of bad cook things though
>don't taste their food while cooking
>don't roast off bones for stock or cook it long enough
>habitually overcook meat and vegetables yet always apologize for it
>don't understand how to balance things
>chop ingredients lazily into hard to eat sizes,
>constantly burn olive oil and garlic
>dad always uses too much oil, mom not enough,
>buy too much food and forget about it and constantly cook half spoiled food
>when they try to cook asian food it's hilariously bad

still pretty good though.
bless their hearts.
