why is cooking so fucking hard?

i just want to cook some basic brown rice or quinoa with some good tasting seasoning, but every fucking recipe i come across has to throw in an additional 50 items that are impossible to find so i end up just make plain fucking rice with no seasoning and it tastes like shit

>turn the plate over on the stove pan just to see Goldfish go everywhere

>80+ little cracker fucks all over the place
>the ones on the pan start burning
>search for flour to put out fire
