I think the best way is to grease up a small skillet with either butter or your favorite oil (Olive or whatever) and then crack an egg into it when it's hot. Sprinkle a little pepper on early, wait until the whites firm up a bit before adding salt. (I think I read somewhere that salt breaks down something in the egg if added too soon. I dunno, don't quote me on that.) Fry until the whites around the yolk are firm, then scoop it up with a spatula and lay on a buttered piece of bread.

Eat around the yolk and then save the yolk for the last bite and enjoy the creaminess as it explodes in your mouth. Eggs are exquisite.
