Beer is an acquired taste. Just like coffee. Just like teas and certain juices. You begin by experimenting and learning what you do and definitely don't like and remember names and brands and just kinda go down the rabbit hole until you land on something you like and fits your budget/lifestyle. (My dad used to say his friend had "champagne appetite on a beer budget".) So money and cost can be a factor in settling on a "go to" beer to grab at social gatherings.

I like spicy micheladas. My husband likes dark strong beers. Everyone's got their own unique preference and that's kinda the cool part of social drinking. You get to try things outside of your norm.
